Free “Speaking in Tongues” Broadcasting

PBS has been airing “Speaking in Tongues” this month, a documentary about immersion education and the contentious debate about bilingual education. Now they are streaming the video for free online until September 17th in three languages: English, Spanish, and Chinese. According to the film maker Marcia Jarmel, it’s the first time that PBS has ever made a film available in more than one language. Check out the documentary when you have time, and you will get just a tiny little view of what I have to live with on a daily basis as a bilingual coordinator in such a politically charged climate:
