Essay #16: My Teacher

in Student Writing Contest

Our sixteenth student essay was written by Judith Jurado, a fourth grade student in a dual language program in Colorado. As a reminder, all entries will be posted “as is” without any revisions or editing by Multilingual Mania:

Miss Ivanna is one of the best teachers I have ever had.  I go to a Dual Language school in Colorado. She is one of the Spanish teachers and I have been lucky to have her two years in a row.

Miss Ivanna is very active in helping the Latino population learn to snowboard.  She runs the Snowboard Outreach Society. We live in the mountains near many ski areas and snowboarding is expensive. She gives us an opportunity to enjoy the sport.  I realize that this program takes a lot of her personal time.  I really appreciate the dedication that she has for us.

She is from Spain and Uruguay.  She has taught us so much about where she is from. We have learned dances from Mexico, Africa, and Argentina. She has also shared information about food and clothes for Latin America.

Lastly, I feel happy that she is my teacher and likes to teach us.

Stay tuned for additional student essays!
